MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY

In keeping with the mission of CHEC, the athletic programs in our middle school provide a positive and inclusive atmosphere where participants can grow emotionally, intellectually and physically. Athletic programs are an extension of the classroom at CHEC; important characteristics and skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, and grit are ingrained through team building, practices or workouts, and games.

Middle School Sports & Activities

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students are encouraged to participate in athletics and activities at CHEC, and with outside teams or clubs. The intention is to provide a fun, safe, inclusive environment where athletes of all skill levels are given a platform to improve their skills or explore a new sport. The middle school program is informed by the experience of our upper school program to create practice and game plans that build the skills necessary to compete at the high school level. All offerings compete against other middle school teams regionally. As in the upper division, the Athletics Department is committed to working with students with athletic or artistic interests outside the school to help them pursue their passion.
