Welcome CHEC Parents & Families!
Parents are important members of the CHEC School community, and CHEC communicates and shares information in a variety of ways so that parents can participate in their child’s educational development and have a clear understanding of the School’s mission, core values, programs, and policies. Regularly scheduled events throughout the year give parents additional opportunities to learn about the School and the specifics of what their child is learning and experiencing daily. Teachers, administrators and counselors routinely meet with parents to discuss their child’s progress and school experience and the Principal sponsors a series of roundtable discussions for parents to discuss topics of importance of interest relating to child development.
A Family Guide to Learning at Home
To help parents and caregivers have a successful start to the school year, DCPS created a helpful guide to virtual learning for families. The guide contains information about Canvas, student schedules, attendance, family wellness, and more. The guide is available in both English and Spanish:
An informed, engaged, and supportive family plays an instrumental role in a student's academic success. At CHEC, we know that parents and families are important partners on a student's academic journey. We're dedicated to supporting your aspirations for your student(s).
